Blood Pressure

Blood pressure refers to the force exerted by the blood against the walls of the arteries as it is pumped by the heart throughout the circulatory system. It is an essential physiological parameter that reflects the balance between cardiac output and peripheral resistance. Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury and is typically expressed as two values: systolic pressure over diastolic pressure (the pressure when the heart relaxes). Managing underlying medical conditions (such as diabetes, kidney disease, or sleep apnea) that contribute to hypertension or hypotension to optimize blood pressure control and reduce the risk of complications.
