Hip replacement, also known as hip arthroplasty, is a surgical procedure performed to replace a damaged or diseased hip joint with an artificial implant. This procedure is commonly recommended for individuals suffering from severe hip pain and limited mobility due to conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, avascular necrosis, hip fracture, or other degenerative hip diseases. During hip replacement surgery, the surgeon removes the damaged parts of the hip joint, including the damaged cartilage and bone, and replaces them with prosthetic components.
