ECT Treatment

Electroconvulsive therapy , also known as shock therapy, is a medical procedure used to treat severe mental health conditions, particularly major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and certain types of schizophrenia, when other treatments have not been effective or when rapid relief from symptoms is needed. ECT involves the administration of a controlled electrical current to the brain, which induces a brief seizure.
